Motherland in KyivThe fugure built in 1981 is located on top of the Great Patriotic War Museum.

The titanium statue stands 62 meters tall upon the museum building with the overall structure measuring 102 m and weighing 550 tons. The sword in the statue's right hand is 16 m long weighing 9 tons, with the left hand holding up a 13 m by 8 m shield with the Coat of arms of the Soviet Union. The Memorial hall of the Museum displays marble plaques with carved names of more than 11,600 soldiers and over 200 workers of the home-front honored during the war with the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union and the Hero of Socialist Labor. On the hill beneath the museum, traditional flower shows are held.

Friendship Arch in KyivStatues under the ArchThe People's Friendship Arch dedicated to celebrate the unification of Russia and Ukraine was constructed in 1982. It's 50 metres in diameter, rainbow-shaped arch, made of titanium. Underneath the Friendship Arch there are : one which is made of bronze and represents a Russian and Ukrainian worker holding up the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples and the other is made from granite and representes the participants of the unification (Pereyaslavska Rada) of 1654. From viewing deck nearby you can view most of the east bank of Dnipro river and towards the north of the city.

P.S. if you look on the Friendship Arch from Khreshatik and over the Dnipro river it looks really cool.

Bogdan KhmelnitskyThe bronze monument to the 17th century Cossack leader is located in the Sophia square in front of St. Sophia Cathedral. The monument was erected in the 19th century.

The hetman Bogdan Khmelnitsky became Ukraine national hero after the Cossack victory over the Polish in 1648.

Kyiv foundersThe memorial is located by the Dnipro River on the edge of Navodnytsky Park. It was was set  up on 1982 to the founders of Kiev, the brothers Kiy, Schchek and Khoriv and their sister Lybed. 

To find this monument you can walk south from Dnipro Metro Station  along the bank of the Dnipro River for 20 minutes or walk down the hill through the park and under the main road from the Great Patriotic War Museum. The couples on their wedding day come here and throw  flowers over their shoulders on to the monument's

Monument to Cyrill, Methodius, St. Andrew and Princess OlgaThe monument is located on the Mikhailivska Square next to the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery

Princess Olga was the first and the only woman in Ukraine history who ruled the state (945-962). In 1919 statue of Olga was broken by the communists into many pieces and buried under the flower bed. It was considered to be lost for a long time. Statues of Cyrill, Methodius, and St. Andrew were destroyed in 1923. The monument was reopened once again and installed in its original place during the reconstruction of the Mykhailivska Square in 1995.
